Manjushri Divination Using Mala

A “Mo” is a divination method commonly use in Tibetan Buddhism. There are many divination systems utilized in Tibetan Buddhism: The Shri Devi dice divination, the candle flame divination and the Guru Padmasambhava divination etc. just to name some examples. This type of Mo system posted here invokes the blessing of Manjushri. First invoke the blessing by reciting:

“OM:

The magnificent Manjushri who unobstructedly sees all the three times: the past, present and future with cycles of transcendental wisdom.

Please come here and hear me, I prostrate to Manjushri and take refuge in the three jewels.

Through the power of truth and dependent arising, please show me the best course of action; and what should be accepted, what should be discarded, when to move ahead, when to withdraw and when to stay silent.”

This is followed by:

“OM AH RA PA CHA NA DHI” (108x)

After that recite the “mantra of dependence arising”:

“OM AH HUM

OM YE DHARMA HE TU PRABHAWA

HE TUHTEKHEN TATHAGATO

HAYAWATETTE KHENTRAYO

NIRODHA EWAMWADI

MAHA SHARMANA SOHA” (3~7x)

Now using the mala:

1.      Hold your mala with both palms and blow on it after you have recited the mantra of dependence arising”.

2.      Recite OM AH HUM as you feel the mala beads. Note that your breath has been purified by chanting the mantras.

3.      Now concentrate on your question clearly.

4.      The results:

a.       No beads left:

                                                              i.      Excellent, proposed course of action is beneficial.

b.      One bead left:

                                                              i.      Proposed course of action is good, but less beneficial. And there could be some hindrances, although these can be overcome.

c.       Two beads left:

                                                              i.      Proposed course of action may benefit you is the short term, but could turn sour in the longer terms.

d.      Three beads left:

                                                              i.      Intended course of action is neither good nor bad. The outcome is determined solely by your attitude and actions.

e.       Four beads left:

                                                              i.      The outcome of your question is negative. No benefits.

f.       Five beads left:

                                                              i.      The most negative answer. Do not peruse your course of action. Better to cut your losses.

Sarva mangalam.
